“Fun with Decorated Letters” with Robyn Colman

Using techniques inspired by Yukimi Annand we’ll design one-stroke capital letters, adding decorations to make words and messages suitable for greeting cards.

Materials to bring:

• Two or three sheets of copy paper or sketchbook paper for roughing out designs
• Two sheets of A4 (or thereabouts) watercolour paper, 160gsm – 300gsm
• Some watercolour paper suitable for folding into cards
• Pencil, ruler and eraser
• Fineliner pens – any sizes between 0.05 and 0.1. If you have a range of colours, bring several but just black is fine too
• Ruling pen, folded pen, automatic pen and/or pointed nibs – anything with which you can draw a fine line
• Watercolour pencils, water jar and small pointed brush
• One or two watercolours, a mixing brush and a palette or dish
