Please check the current travel time before departure. There are ongoing highway roadworks which may affect drive times. \nThis excursion will be a self-guided journalling day. There is a lot of tantalising subject matter to sketch in Ross. We’ll meet at the Ross Town Hall Supper Room at 10am and exchange some ideas over morning tea. Then we’ll go out to sketch and photograph. Come back to the hall around 12 for a quick lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon working on our sketches in the hall. DESCRIPTION:Using techniques inspired by Yukimi Annand we’ll design one-stroke capital letters\, adding decorations to make words and messages suitable for greeting cards. \nMaterials to bring: \n\nTwo or three sheets of copy paper or sketchbook paper for roughing out designs\nTwo sheets of A4 (or thereabouts) watercolour paper\, 160gsm – 300gsm\nSome watercolour paper suitable for folding into cards\nPencil\, ruler and eraser\nFineliner pens – any sizes between 0.05 and 0.1. If you have a range of colours\, bring several but just black is fine too\nRuling pen\, folded pen\, automatic pen and/or pointed nibs – anything with which you can draw a fine line\nWatercolour pencils\, water jar and small pointed brush\nOne or two watercolours\, a mixing brush and a palette or dish

DESCRIPTION:This workshop will now be conducted via Zoom at the usual workshop cost of $30. It will offer activities to take us back to our desks with pleasure after the summer holidays. While no formal lettering is involved\, we will flex our hands and minds\, playing with serious intent. We will open out to inspiration from nature and poetry\, have fun with pencils and paint\, and prompt our imaginations for possible future projects. \nPlease login at around 9:45.
