DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nCost: Half day members/non members $20/$25\, full day $40/$50 \nMorning Session: \nItalic Variations – Following on from Ailsa’s introduction to Italics in September\, in this session we will try our hand at some classic Italic variations as well as some less traditional ones. Suitable for beginners and old hands. \nMaterials: The materials in bold are required\, the unbolded are optional. \n\n3.8mm parallel pen and ink cartridges or ink to dip\npractise paper\, non bleeding layout paper\, A3 if possible\nslope board for writing if you have one\nruler\, pencil\nother sized calligraphy pens (larger or smaller sizes\, different eg ruling pen\, split nib\, folded pen\, coit etc) if you have them\ncolour (gouache or ink)\nbetter quality papers\, smooth or textured to try\n\nLyndall will bring a variety of tools for you to try if you don’t have your own. \nAfternoon Session: \nAsemic Writing is creative mark making without the need to have a specific meaning\, while still creating emotion. After a morning getting your letters perfect\, the afternoon is about playing with composition without making a single ‘letter’. \nMaterials: \n\n4+ sheets of A3 cartridge paper\nblack ink\, Chinese if you have it\none contrasting coloured ink\nglue stick\nfull range of ‘writing’ tools from from very wide ie 5-10cm\nbalsa wood\nflat brushes\nfelt\nfabric over credit card as we made in July workshop\nsuede pens as used in July\ntwo thinner pointed brushes\npointed pens\nmonoline pens\n\nAilsa will bring a range of tools for you to explore\, so DO NOT buy anything! \n
