“Fabric Printing Workshop” with Ljilja Armstrong

Cost: This is a full day workshop. Members $40, non members $50
This fabric printing workshop will allow participants to enjoy the spirit of play and exploration. The starting point will be a plain piece of fabric such as callico or white cotton. The surface will be built up gradually with layers of paint using simple techniques such as stamping and stencilling. Mark making with improvised drawing tools will also be encouraged.
Further embellishment may be added with printed text, simple hand stitching to create letters or hand drawn lettering. These unique creations may then be used as book covers, cards, turned into 3D forms, framed artworks or made into an articulated book.
Note: There is some preparation to do before the workshop and the information on what to do is in the materials list under tissue paper.
