“Flowing into the Spaces” with Anita George

Based in Victoria, Anita is a professional artist, blending traditional letterforms into contemporary artworks.

This workshop is about allowing yourself to do things differently, to experiment, to play.

You know your letter forms. Now we aim for the unconscious mark hidden beneath. This is about letting go and enjoying the rhythm. Letters and marks all flow from our subconscious. Music and unusual tools all contribute to give you the freedom to just express. Your interpretation will be the key, and there will be lots of ideas and adaptation of the ‘normal’ to take way at the end.

Materials List:

• Large paper eg: cartridge
• roll of brown wrapping paper
• Colour Mi teintes x 2
• largest brush, wide or round
• thin long bristles brush
• wide nib
• narrow (old school type) nib
• automatic pen
• any homemade style pens (coke etc)
• 3 x odd markmakers (sponge, foam etc)
• 2 x ink
• 2 x gouache
• oil pastel, charcoal (if you have it)
• wide bowl
• cloth, water containers
• your usual kit
