“I started a personal challenge, on 1st January, called Project Paper and Glue – 365 days of collage. I felt I needed some motivation to be creative every day, especially when I return to work after the summer holidays. Work saps my creative energy and the global Covid situation doesn’t help. So to promote more positive thinking and mindfulness I’ve begun this daily challenge. So far I’m loving it. The pieces are small – 10 cm x 10 cm with the occasional 20 x 20. I try not to think too deeply about what I’m doing so in some ways it’s a mindless challenge! I’ve put the idea out to members of the Calligraphy Society of Tasmania as well as family and friends and some have devised their own personal challenges…crocheting a square per day, a tiny patchwork per day. Society member Robyn Colman is doing a collage per week, relating her pieces to the seasons, which will eventually become 4 books.”
